Saturday night obsessions

While I'm taking a rather "small" break, I decided to write a little about one of my all time obsessions.
Ready...

This is one of my all time favorite bands. And I can't really go a day without listening to some of their songs (yes, I'm saying some as in multiple due to the fact that I can't really only listen to one). I always listen to one of their albums when I'm doing homework or reading (yes, I read with music, I can't really focus if there is no music playing).

This band was formed, i think, around 2006 and it is made up of five guys, Will Anderson,  Nate McFarlandAlex HargraveKit FrenchJohnny Stubblefield

They have released three albums up to date with their latest being released on August of this year.

Losing sleep, 2009;

The way it was, 2011;

Overnight, 2013;

These are some of my favorite songs:

  • Kiss Me Slowly; this was the first son I ever heard of them, still replaying it a bunch of times a day. I think that this is my absolute all time Parachute favorite song. The lyric is so beautiful. Here is an acoustic version.
  • Drive You Home; This is such a sweet song, I feel in love with the lyrics, especially in the part "Yes and I lie awake in bed at night, I picture you when I close my eyes, I can see you there, in the porch, in the light, I might never feel your kiss, Baby let me tell you this..." Here is the acoustic version.
  • Disappear; There is a reason why I put a quote from that song in my description, I think that everyone can identify with the feeling that you just are just stuck in the same place and you just want to leave everything behind, get out, and never look back. And I just love acoustic songs.
  • Under Control; It's a song about two friends, and one of them starts catching feelings, it is relatable due to the fact that it happens, A LOT, maybe it even happened to me, but you will never know if that's true...
  • Strange World; This was a bonus track from the album Loosing Sleep. There isn't really an exact reason why I like it, but I always like to sing along to it when it comes up.
  • Hearts Go Crazy (Acoustic Version); I absolutely hated the original up-beat pop version of the song, but then I heard the acoustic version of the song, and I fell in love. If you compare both versions, they sound nothing alike, and it feels as if they are completely different songs. I think that this song marked the change of musical direction of Parachute, and it's one of my favorites, even though it wasn't in the album, and I don't like the original version.
  • Philadelphia; Yes, I know this is quite a long song (7 MINUTES!) but i feel like it's a really sad story about heartbreak, but the way that it's put in the song makes it a really sweet song.
  • Hurricane: There is a reason why Will Anderson said that this was the best song he has ever written. This may be my second favorite song, and is definitely in my top 20 favorite songs right now. LOVE LOVE LOVE this song.

Yep, so, those were some of the many songs that they have, it was really hard to chose just a small amount, because I really like every single song from them, with the exception of one, but all of the songs are pretty good, and I'm not saying that only due to the fact that I have a MASSIVE crush on Will Anderson. I mean he is really handsome, and oh my god, HE HAS THE MOST PERFECT BLUE EYES!, or if I would put it in fan fiction language, "blue orbs", i mean, who says that in real life?
There is a link in every song that I have written about, and their official page is http://www.weareparachute.com/.
These are some interesting videos that show the band talking about why they put the songs in the Overnight album, and the meanings of them.

And I think that that's it, Bye.
