Music Mondays

Starting this week I will post every Monday, hopefully, 5 songs that I have been listening to non-stop this week.

I wanted to do these because I love when people share what they are currently listening to and I like to listen to discover new music when people share their favorites.

So, here are my top 5 at the moment:
*The songs will not be in any order, they will just be written as I remember the songs.

- Worlds Apart / The Mostar Diving Club: kind of late since it was released, I think 3 years ago, but i just watched Waiting For Forever, and i just adored how sweet this song is.

- Tennis Court / Lorde: I downloaded her album after listening to royals, and I have been obsessed with this song, I just love the sound of it

- Superhero / Luke Conard & Landon Austin: Found out about this song because i was watching one of Tanya Burr's video and the song played in the background, going to link the video here

- Didn't See It Coming / Parachute: I have deeply explained how much I adore this song in one of my last blogs, and I am really obsessed with the Overnight album. I also love the story behind this song, Will Anderson explained it in one of their videos

- Story Of My Life / One Direction: Yes, I am a girl, I am allowed to listen to music like this. So this song just came out and I am IN LOVE. I like the new sound, it's, different. Just three more words, LOVE LOVE LOVE

So, this are the songs that I have recently been listening to. If you like it cool, if you didn't, then I will try to improve my musical taste, or not.

Saturday night obsessions

While I'm taking a rather "small" break, I decided to write a little about one of my all time obsessions.
Ready...

This is one of my all time favorite bands. And I can't really go a day without listening to some of their songs (yes, I'm saying some as in multiple due to the fact that I can't really only listen to one). I always listen to one of their albums when I'm doing homework or reading (yes, I read with music, I can't really focus if there is no music playing).

This band was formed, i think, around 2006 and it is made up of five guys, Will Anderson,  Nate McFarlandAlex HargraveKit FrenchJohnny Stubblefield

They have released three albums up to date with their latest being released on August of this year.

Losing sleep, 2009;

The way it was, 2011;

Overnight, 2013;

These are some of my favorite songs:

  • Kiss Me Slowly; this was the first son I ever heard of them, still replaying it a bunch of times a day. I think that this is my absolute all time Parachute favorite song. The lyric is so beautiful. Here is an acoustic version.
  • Drive You Home; This is such a sweet song, I feel in love with the lyrics, especially in the part "Yes and I lie awake in bed at night, I picture you when I close my eyes, I can see you there, in the porch, in the light, I might never feel your kiss, Baby let me tell you this..." Here is the acoustic version.
  • Disappear; There is a reason why I put a quote from that song in my description, I think that everyone can identify with the feeling that you just are just stuck in the same place and you just want to leave everything behind, get out, and never look back. And I just love acoustic songs.
  • Under Control; It's a song about two friends, and one of them starts catching feelings, it is relatable due to the fact that it happens, A LOT, maybe it even happened to me, but you will never know if that's true...
  • Strange World; This was a bonus track from the album Loosing Sleep. There isn't really an exact reason why I like it, but I always like to sing along to it when it comes up.
  • Hearts Go Crazy (Acoustic Version); I absolutely hated the original up-beat pop version of the song, but then I heard the acoustic version of the song, and I fell in love. If you compare both versions, they sound nothing alike, and it feels as if they are completely different songs. I think that this song marked the change of musical direction of Parachute, and it's one of my favorites, even though it wasn't in the album, and I don't like the original version.
  • Philadelphia; Yes, I know this is quite a long song (7 MINUTES!) but i feel like it's a really sad story about heartbreak, but the way that it's put in the song makes it a really sweet song.
  • Hurricane: There is a reason why Will Anderson said that this was the best song he has ever written. This may be my second favorite song, and is definitely in my top 20 favorite songs right now. LOVE LOVE LOVE this song.

Yep, so, those were some of the many songs that they have, it was really hard to chose just a small amount, because I really like every single song from them, with the exception of one, but all of the songs are pretty good, and I'm not saying that only due to the fact that I have a MASSIVE crush on Will Anderson. I mean he is really handsome, and oh my god, HE HAS THE MOST PERFECT BLUE EYES!, or if I would put it in fan fiction language, "blue orbs", i mean, who says that in real life?
There is a link in every song that I have written about, and their official page is http://www.weareparachute.com/.
These are some interesting videos that show the band talking about why they put the songs in the Overnight album, and the meanings of them.

And I think that that's it, Bye.

Favorite Childhood Tv Shows

Today I'm going to share some of my favorite Tv shows while growing up, since its flashback friday and all that jazz...
I grew up during the late 90's early 2000's so lets say I'm a mix of both generations, but I would say that I was heavily influenced by the 90's considering the fact that most of my cousins and my siblings were from either the late 80's or the early 90's.
I still watch most of these Tv shows due to the fact that now Teen Nick airs "The 90's are all That" block. It creates this feeling that I'm a really small kid that doesn't have to worry about school, exams, boys (that is not a necessary one, but girls know how I feel) or any drama between friends
So, here they are, some of my favorite childhood memories;

Hey Arnold!

I absolutely adored that show, and still do, it is one of the first things that pop up in my mind when i think of when i was growing up. I remember that every time the theme song started playing I just danced like a crazy kid who had just eaten a lot of chocolate (I may, key word may, still do that) I mean, COME ON! who couldn't love that show and Arnold's huge crazy head, or love to hate Helga, I think every person, either boy or girl, can identify with her, due to the fact that when you are little you always dream about that one little kid, and sometimes when you want to get their attention you did really bad things to them, like make fun of their hair (maybe you still do that... ok, maybe I still do that, dont judge)

Rocko's Modern Life

Before you start saying anything, YES, I do know that this show has VARIOUS sexual innuendos, but I still like it never the less, i think that that is the main reason why many grown ups still watch this show, even though it was targeted towards kids. This is a show that was introduced to me by my older sister, she loves this show, and as I got older I started loving it even more.

Kenan And Kel

I think that this was the first live action show that i couldn't live without. Kel always made me laugh really hard in each episode with how lost he always was, and how crazy was Kenan, because even though Kenan was really intelligent, he managed to get the two of them into trouble. Another thing that i really liked was Kenan's sister and how obsessed she was with Kel.
And come on, one of the best things was when Kel went crazy about orange soda and when he talked in third person and said "who loves orange soda? Kel loves orange soda. Is it true? Mm-hmm! I do, I do, I do, I do, I do-ooh!", I mean, it was the best part of the show.
Also, who doesn't love the theme song

As Told By Ginger

This is a show that followed me all the way to my pre-teen years. I remember that I always wanted to have a diary just like Ginger had, and that I (unsuccessfully) tried to start various ones, only resulting on me having a bunch of journals piled up in my nightstand. One of the things that really made me watch this show was the fact that it touched real issues that could actually happen in real life, it was one of those few shows that absolutely nailed the character development, and even though they are animated, you feel like they are real people and you manage to connect with them. While I was writing this, i came across some episodes that were posted on youtube, here. I could definitely say that this is in my top 3 cartoons.

SpongeBob SquarePants

OBVIOUSLY only the first seasons, after that, it all went down hill.
This is one of the favorite shows of many people. There is nothing left to say THE FIRST SEASONS are neatly done, and the writing is hilarious, and the movie was really good, it was one of the few times that I actually went to the movies to watch an animated movie without being dragged by someone
And, is it just me, but I really want to go to Krabby Land. Also, who wouldn't like to taste a Krabby Patty, I would eat meat just to taste one of those delicious patties.

KaBlam

I really liked all of the segments of this show. I would have to say that some of my favorites were either Henry and June, or Action League Now!, yep, i was quite the tomboy during some part of my little life. Because of Henry and June I always wanted to have my hair of really weird colors, obviously my mom never let me dye it, I think I will do it sometime soon...
And Oh My God, Sniz And Fondue!!! AHHHHHH. I don't know why, but i loved how they talked, i found it really funny.
Rugrats

This show HAD to be on my list, it is a one of kind show. I always wanted to have an older brother like Tommy that would take me on adventures, and eat weird stuff with Phil and Lil. When I was a little older I really wanted to be friends with Susie, or maybe go on a adventure to Paris or to an island with all of the baby gang. I can't really express how much I ADORE this show. This is definitely on my top TV shows list. I also loved the addition of Kimi after the movie, she and Chucky were so adorable together as brother and sister.

All of my childhood memories were basically dominated by all of these TV shows. I absolutely couldn't change the nickelodeon channel from waking up, till I was sent to bed by my mom telling me that my eyes were going to dry out and that I wouldn't be able to see, and after that I would not be able to see any more Nicktoons, OH BOY, that could not happen. There are still plenty Tv shows that I haven't really written about, I will maybe do a part 2 some time soon, but until then I will just leave you with this few memories from my childhood, and maybe this made YOU reminisce about your childhood.

Changes

Just a quick post right now, after this I’m going to upload a much more interesting one.
I just wanted to share with you, the one reading this, some changes that i have been going through lately. Yes I know I am not exactly the best blogger due to the fact that i haven’t posted anything in a little more than a month, but i have been all over the place, either physically (traveling) or psychologically (every human being has those moments, at least that what i think).

I think that I’m going to begin with one of the biggest ones.
I am an aunt!, for the second time.
My sister gave birth to a little boy the first week of october for the first time. He is so adorable and cute.

I FINALLY HAVE A MAC!
i have been waiting for ages to get this computer, it is now my little baby. That is one of the main reasons why I didn't post anything. I think i need a Mac for dummies book.

I went to Brasil! I will make a post something about it soon. gonna link it after i upload it.
It was my first time over there and it was a wonderful experience, from the people, to the food, everything was really special.

Finally I have been seriously thinking of shaking up this blog a little, give it a little more, i dont know, maybe personality, a little bit more of me.

If you read until here and you are not tired of reading about my life, thank you. This isn't really an interesting one, but i write what i think.

Well, that's it, I think so.1

Adventures in Brasil

Today I "wasn't feeling that good", yes the words are in bold due to the fact that maybe, just maybe, i really wanted to stay in for the day today and write some stuff
I have just recently returned from a really entertaining trip to Brasil. I went to Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. During this trip I discovered that I have this serious obsession with brasilian bread with cheese, pâo de queijo, it is delicious.
Here are some pictures from my trip

#nofilter hahahah

Me trying to be a supermodel

Some shops

A really weird toilet in a restaurant ..
Yep, that is actually what I found in the toilet

Trying to be artistic

I also went to a motorcycle fair, found this two gorgeous bikes
I also had a successful shopping spree in TOPSHOP, I lost all my control and bought a lot of stuff, may be doing a post about the things that i bought. Brasil is a really beautiful place either because of their people or their places, I plan on returning soon and have a little more time in the beaches, and explore new places, gain new experiences and meet new people.
